A Japanese hand stencil print titled Kotobuki (壽) by Kichiemon Okamura (1916-2002). This is a hand stencil dyed Japanese print on handmade mulberry paper. Kotobuki translates to ‘longevity’ and is the symbol for good luck in all celebrations. Okamura studied traditional Japanese stencil dyeing with Keisuke Serizawa and has been awarded many prizes by the Folk Arts and Crafts Association of Tokyo. Most of his themes are based on calligraphy.
