1916 Mahogany VV-XVII Victor Victrola Phonograph and Records

A 1916 Model VV-XVII Victor Victrola ‘Talking Machine’ phonograph in a mahogany case, serial number 4669. This 1916 model was introduced as the premium talking machine of that year, designed with a bowed front and sides, with hand-carved trim and gold-plated hardware. The cabinet includes a vertically-divided record space to the base. The phonograph has a 4-spring power and glass speed indicator, with a side hand crank. This particular model was discontinued in 1921. This victrola includes vintage records, with Gene Krupa Orchestra and The Ink Spots, among others, and a Realistic Clarinette I stereo, with speaker, and a group of over thirty-five albums including Jazz, Big Band and Dixieland titles.
