Barbour Mixed Media Works on Paper "Empire I" and "Empire II"

Item Details

A pair of mixed media works on paper by Barbour. Titled Empire I and Empire II, each depicts a Neoclassical lidded urn, with embossed, pierced, and layered bands of ornamentation, scrolling arms, and stepped pedestal bases. They are composed of layered paper in creams, silvers, with applied gold tone paint, mounted to black backgrounds. Each is signed in gold in the lower right corner. These works are presented with elaborate layered mats with silver and gold fillets, under glass in silver and black frames with d-rings for hanging. Each has a label from Kinder & Harris on the back.
