Charles Edwards London Sterling Miniature Serving Set

A collection of London sterling silver. The set of miniature tableware was made by London silversmith Charles Edwards in 1891-2. The set includes a pair of salt and pepper shakers, an open salt, and a mustard pot. This group consists of pieces with chased decoration and a central shield surrounded by foliate embellished scrolls in relief. There are scalloped edges around the decoration and the salt and pepper shakers have pierced lids. The pieces have cobalt blue glass inserts on the interiors. There are English hallmarks with a lion passant, leopard and date letters. A 1931 Birmingham sterling mustard pot with a cobalt insert accompanies the collection. The total approximate weight is 6.115 ozt. excluding the cobalt glass elements.

- some minor surface wear with faint markings and tarnishing; the mustard pot has a detached lid.
