Art Deco Frame with Applied Carved Celedon Jade Scroll Weights

An Art Deco leather frame having skillfully carved and pierced Chinese pale celadon jade applied to the frame decoratively as was the popular practice in the 1920’s. A circular medallion is inset at the center of the top and a pair of long and narrow scholar’s scroll weights are applied at each side The table top frame has embossed gilt borders and decoration, moire silk backing and a hinged support arm.

Condition

The support arm at the back has torn and there is slight damage to the leather at the bottom of the frame.
