Hand-Knotted Pakistani Wool Area Rug
Item Details
A hand-knotted Pakistani area rug. This rectilinear wool rug is rendered in a palette of brown, crimson, deep midnight blue, indigo, mauve, and red. Its field is grounded in mauve, brown, and indigo stripes. Populating the field are six crisp memling guls in red as well as four irregularly shaped indigo panels that span the field; these unusual spans contain arrow motifs. The rug has compound unresolved borders. It has double overcast edges and finishes with short kilim skirts and tan and ivory wool warp fringe. It is marked on the underside.
