Two Victorian Era and One 1960s Unframed Silver Gelatin Postmortem Photographs
Item Details
A group of two original antique Victorian era silver gelatin postmortem photographs of women and one vintage silver gelatin glossy photograph of a man, circa 1960s. The Victorian photographs are each mounted on thick card stock within a simple decorative border, one depicting a woman blanketed in cala lilies, carnations, and roses, with another floral bouquet on the ground at her side that reads, "MOTHER"; the other depicting a woman, "Aunt Nora", in her coffin in a well-furnished room completely overflowing with flowers. The 1960s photograph depicts an older man lying in a shallow coffin with his full length body exposed, surrounded by his grieving widow and family. This photograph is informally protected behind a piece of glass with copper foil tape around the outer edges. These pieces are all unframed.
