An abstract oil painting on board titled 11 by listed abstract artist Henry Kallem (New York; 1912 – 1985). This piece depicts three rectangles along the top of the composition rendered in red and black. The lower portion of the composition has three triangles rendered in yellow and blue. This piece is signed and titled to the verso in black ink. Presented unframed.

Henry Kallem was born in Pennsylvania. He began his artistic studies with his father, Morris Kallem, who was a portrait painter. Kallem received formal training at the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts and the National Academy of Design in New York City. He exhibited at the 1939 New York World’s Fair and won first prize at the Pepsi Cola Exhibition of 1947. Kallem’s work can be found in museums and galleries such as the Corcoran Galleries in Washington as well as private collections.

- craquelure is present to the upper right; stains and abrasions are present to the lower portion of the composition.
