Large Hand-Knotted Sarouk Wool Area Rug

A large hand-knotted Sarouk wool area rug. The rug has a deep scarlet red field populated with very dense, colorful floral bouquets and sprays of flower blossoms with scrolled leaves and filler palmettes in bright blue, indigo, taupe, apricot, ruby and green. The field is framed by carnation meander guard border on an ivory field, with a primary border in a herati pattern in the field colors. It has overcast edges with short wool warp fringe to either end. Unmarked.
