A vintage Catholic sick call box and antique 1870 prayer manual titled The Way to Heaven. The sick box, formed in the shape of a crucifix., is constructed from carved wood with a cast ivory-colored acrylic representation of Christ on the Cross. The box slides open to reveal a pair of small beeswax candles with stands built into the interior arms of cross, an empty glass bottle labeled for Holy Water, and a few strips of cotton gauze. The antique prayer manual is leather-bound with embossed gilt embellishments and gold-leafed edges on the pages.

Condition

- book’s spine is damaged and almost entirely detached from pages. Pages are yellowed and worn with age and use. Outside covers are well-worn. Sick box has light wear to edges. Candles are unused.
