A set of nine 1970s hand-colored lithographs on paper after illustrations by American artist John Kollock. The items are presented together in a portfolio titled John Kollock’s ‘Down Home’ Prints, printed by Grizzard Advertising of Atlanta. Each lithograph features hand-watercolored embellishments and presents an idyllic view of country life. Featured prints include The Overshot Mill, The Country Store, The Farm Blacksmith, Rural Free Delivery, Syrup Making, Court Week, Dinner on the Ground and Milking Time. Each is signed in plate to the lower right. The portfolio includes a section with more information about the artist and his work.
Condition
- to Fair; items are loose and unframed; portfolio shows foxing, edge and surface wear, creasing and discoloration, as well as small tear to top right and circular brown stain to lower right corner; images have minor buckling at lower edges due to age; six of the eight prints have very light foxing.
