A replica of china commissioned by King D. Pedro III of Portugal. In the mid-18th century, King D. Pedro III of Portugal (1717-1786) commissioned a set of Chinese porcelain for his residence at the Palácio Nacional de Queluz. This deep dish replica presents the same design featuring the Royal Portuguese Coat of Arms and the cross of the Order of Malta to the center with red and gold tone accents to the edge and scalloped rim. The piece is marked to the underside reading ‘Instituto Portugués Do Património Arquitectónico Serviço D. Pedro III, Sec. XVIII (Réplica) Palácio Nacional Queluz Portugal NG’.
