Robert Morden Colored Map of Hampshire
Item Details
An original colored map by Robert Morden. This lithograph was originally produced for William Camden’s Britannia in 1695. It depicts the county on the southern coast of England called Hampshire. The map is presented under tan mat in a wooden frame with a wire hanger to verso. The artist’s handwritten signature is to verso in white ink.
Condition
- small stains on map at right center and top right of image; top center and bottom right corner of image are coming out from underneath mat; residue on image at top center;f nicks and scratches to frame throughout; tape on each corner; punctures to backing.
