Chinese Embroidery on Silk of Birds
Item Details
A pair of Chinese embroideries on silk of birds. These two works depict stylized birds nesting on thin, curling branches sprouting flowers in a palette orange and pink against a flat background. Poetic inscriptions are found to the left and right margins of the composition in a vertical arrangement. Both works are presented under glass in a single-layered mat in a gold tone wooden frame with hanging wire to the verso.

- wrinkles to surface; runs to silk background; several small stains present; wear to finish of frames.
