1890s Framed Memorial Cards for Grandfather and Grandchildren
Item Details
A collection of four block relief-printed memorial cards. The cards feature ornate illustrations and text printed in metallic gold tone ink on black cards. The lives commemorated on the cards are a grandfather and his three grandchildren, all of whom passed away between the years of 1890 – 1892. Per consignor, the cards are from Tennessee. The cards are matted in off-white and presented behind antique hand-rolled glass in its original wooden frame with cast braided trim and off-white finish. A hanging wire is attached to the verso
Condition
- significant loss to frame’s cast embellishments. Water damage and accretion across matting.
