Hand Painted Popeye Animation Cel "Just a Taste" by Myron Waldman

A hand painted Popeye the Sailor animation cel titled Just a Taste, signed by Myron Waldman. It depicts a fez-wearing Popeye giving some spinach to a genie emanating from a brass lamp held in the sailor’s hand. An evil figure secretly watches from a nearby doorway. The piece is marked with a King Studios seal and hand numbered ‘S.P. 5/5’. Signed ‘Myron Waldman’ to the bottom center. Waldman (1908-2006) was a noted animator who worked on Betty Boop, Popeye, Superman, and numerous other cartoons over the course of five decades. Comes in a protective plastic sleeve with a certificate of authenticity and an image of Waldman signing the piece.
