A hand-colored etching on paper. This work depicts a map of Kirkcudbrightshire, Scotland. The piece is marked ‘Kirkcudbright Shire from the beft Authorities By T. Kitchin & J. Barber Hydrographer to His Majesty’ in the upper right. It is presented behind a mat, under glass in a frame with a wire to the verso ready to hang.
Condition
- frame and backing has scuffs and knicks throughout- hard to pinpoint a main area. backing of Banff, Murray, Nairn map has punctures near center, map of Argyle and Bute has small punctures near bottom where tape is on matting and brown streaks across middle of matting.
