An offset lithograph after John Collett (1720-1780), titled The Recruiting Serjeant. The piece depicts a British officer talking to a young man as people gather around outside of a lodging house. The piece is signed in the plate by the artist to the lower left. It is presented behind glass in a wood frame with hanging wire affixed to verso.

Condition

- image is toning; the image has water spots throughout bottom portion; frame paint is chipping off throughout the frame; verso: punctures throughout the backing board.
