A hand painted Take Him Out To The Ball Game Popeye animation cel signed by Myron Waldman. It depicts the popular cartoon character lifting his hat in greeting and supporting a bat on his shoulder. The cel is set against a colorful collage background of Popeye jumping for the ball, hitting, throwing, and catching. The piece is matted in white and hand numbered 556/1000. Signed ‘Myron Waldman’ to the bottom right. Waldman (1908-2006) was a noted animator who worked on Betty Boop, Popeye, Superman, and numerous other cartoons over the course of five decades. Includes a Toon Art certificate of authenticity on the reverse.
