A six volume first American edition set of Winston Churchill’s The Second World War. The first American edition precedes the British edition and is the true first edition. Published between 1948 and 1953 by Houghton Mifflin of Boston, this set includes The Gathering Storm (1948); Their Finest Hour (1949); The Grand Alliance (1950); The Hinge of Fate (1950); Closing the Ring (1951); and Triumph and Tragedy (1953). All six books are clothbound on board and include original dust jackets.
