The group features a copy of Midnight Cowboy by James Leo Herlihy that was published by Simon and Schuster in New York in 1965, a copy of Just So Stories by Rudyard Kiplin with illustrations by J.M. Gleeson and Paul Bransom that was published in 1912 by Rudyard Kipling, and a copy of The Return of Tarzan by Edgar Rice Burroughs with decorations by J. Allen St. John that was published by A.L. Burt Company in New York in 1915. The group also features a copy of Les Misérables by Victor Hugo that was published by George Routledge and Sons in New York, a copy of The Winter of Our Discontent by John Steinback that was published by The Viking Press in New York in 1961, as well as a copy of Tom Swift and His Motor Boat by Victor Appleton that was published by Grosset & Dunlap in 1910.
