An original mid-century miniature etching on paper by listed American illustrator and cartoonist, Margaret Ann Gaug (Illinois; 1909 – 1994), titled Me and My Dog. The image depicts a charming cartoon girl wearing a plaid dress and a straw hat, whistling as she stands uncertainly, possibly hiding something behind her back as her dog accompanies her at her side. Title and artist signature are signed in pencil to the lower margin. This work is mounted under off-white aged mat, under glass in a simple narrow blonde wood frame.
Condition
- discoloration across print and mat. Accretion on and under glass. Finish of frame is worn.
