A pair of mid-19th century books entitled History of the Consulate and the Empire of France Under Napoleon by M. A. Thiers. This includes volumes V and VI, published in 1845 and 1851 by Henry Colburn, respectively. Each is bound in full leather on boards with intricate gilt to spines and dyed leather title blocks. They feature marbled fore edges and endpapers.
