Three Roe Deer Skull Mounts
Item Details
A set of three roe deer (Capreolus capreolus) skull mounts. These mounts, which are dated to their verso, each feature the skull cap of a roe deer complete with its interestingly shaped antlers. Two of the three pieces, from 1924 and 1925, are mounted to elongated heart-shaped wood blocks, with hooks for hanging present to verso. The third, dated 1915, is mounted to a square wood block with a dark finish and hook for hanging present to verso as well. There is handwriting present to the back of each piece, rendered illegible over time.
