Six Vintage Jumbo Peanut Butter Jars
Item Details
A collection of six glass jars for Jumbo Peanut Butter, circa 1930s. The jars were manufactured by Cincinnati’s prolific Frank’s Tea & Spice Co. Three of the jars have vintage zinc screw-on lids; one is marked ‘Ball.’ The jars have a raised stripe surface texture with a portrait of an elephant and the brand’s name; some have an ingredient list. Slogans such as ‘ACCEPT NO SUBSTITUTE FOR JUMBO’ and ‘ALL THE CHILDREN LIKE JUMBO’ are raised on the base of each jar.
