An original turn-of-the-century watercolor on paper signed to the lower right by artist Switzer. The image depicts a young woman dressed in late 19th-century attire, gazing peacefully at something beyond the pictorial space as she clutches an envelope in her hands. This work is mounted under olive green mat, behind antique hand-rolled glass in an antique wood frame with a gilt stenciled foliate border.
Condition
- discoloration to painting and mat. Accretion on and under glass and on frame. Finish of frame is worn.
