An 1887 Harper’s School Geography cloth on board book. This antique textbook, titled Harper’s School Geography With Maps and Illustrations Prepared Expressly for This Work by Eminent American Artists, was published in New York by Harper & Brothers. The title page features portraits of Carl Ritter (1779-1859) and Alexander von Humboldt (1769-1859), considered the founders of modern geography. The book, copyrighted in 1885, and featuring color maps, is marked on the cover for use in ‘Minn., Ia, Neb., Kan., and Mo.’

Condition

- interior pages have some foxing; spine torn; top edge, bottom edge and corners worn.
