A vintage handwoven flat weave Bessarabian area rug. The rug features a bright scarlet field populated with elongated floral sprays in peach, scarlet, steel grey, olive, fuchsia and ochre. It has a wide, sawtooth primary border with similar floral elements in the same colorway on a bright sapphire blue field. it has double overcast edges with long, thick cotton plaited fringe to either end. Tagged ‘Dhurrie’ to reverse.
