An early offset lithographic reproduction after the 1782 engraving by Nicolas de Launay (1739–1792) titled Les Hazards Heureux de l’Escarpolette, which was engraved after the original 1767 painting by Jean-Honoré Fragonard (1732 – 1806) titled L’Escarpolette. The image depicts the famous scene in which a fair young woman is being propelled in a swing while a young man hides in the bushes from a vantage point that allows him to see up her dress. The print is mounted behind white mat, under glass in a beveled wood frame with a white and gilt finish.

Condition

- discoloration across print and mat. Finish of frame is worn throughout and chipped in a few areas.
