Pair of Virginia Opossum Skulls

A pair of Virginia opossum (Didelphis virginiana) skulls. This pair of skulls clearly show the sharp, jagged teeth of the animal, with both mandibles fixed open. This species of opossum is the only known marsupial in North America and often plays dead to avoid potential threats. The larger of the two skulls is labeled on its mandible, and both specimens are accompanied by identification tags.
