A Royal Doulton Long John Silver jug. This Toby style item depicts a smiling pirate with a cross and bones emblem on a black cap over a white handkerchief covering his hair. A gray parrot is propped on his shoulder, and serves as the handle. The man’s black shirt is marked in the surface ‘Long John Silver’. The functional piece is marked underneath ‘Royal Doulton – England – Long John Silver – D. 6335 – Copr 1951 – Doulton & Co Limited’ and the handwritten number ‘59’.
