A framed Chinese offset lithograph after a Song dynasty (960-1279) titled Butterflies Sketched From Life by Zhao Chang (赵昌, circa 959-1016). The original handscroll is held in the Palace Museum, Beijing and considered a masterpiece of Song dynasty nature painting. The print replicates the colorful and delicately rendered crickets, butterflies, and other insects against a backdrop of flowers, branches, and leaves. It is presented under glass, beneath a white mat, in a golden brown wood frame, wired to the verso for hanging.
