An original conté crayon drawing on beige paper by listed 20th century Cincinnati artist and educator Jessie Phil Olmes (1925 – 1996). The drawing depicts a portrait of a young woman illustrated in red, black, and white conté crayon. Her face is rendered in detail, fading into abstraction as the image descends towards her bust. The drawing is signed in graphite to the lower right. Olmes moved to Cincinnati in 1944 and taught art at Norwood High School and the Cincinnati Women Club. He was a member of the Cincinnati Art Club. The drawing is matted in off-white and presented behind non-glare glass in a wooden frame with gold tone finish and a hanging wire.
