Late 19th Century Eastlake Walnut and Leather Armchair

A late 19th century Eastlake armchair constructed of walnut. This chair features a geometric carved crest with spindles, flanked by two channeled side rails. Each arm features spindles and a carved handhold. The chair sits on ring-turned legs with a box stretcher. Both the seat and back are upholstered in leather with nailhead trim; seat is supported by webbing, visible from the chair’s underside.

Condition

- leather backing and seat are heavily worn, front center portion of chair has a rip; scratches on wood at top of chair and left arm, throughout legs; nailhead trim starting to oxidize.
