A Hubley Art Nouveau peacock and urn cast iron doorstop, circa 1910. It is marked pattern number 208 to the back, no other marks noted. It features a classically styled urn to the top with a peacock perched beside on a rose bloom covered gate and set of steps. It features all original paint with a cream tone ground to the urn, gate and steps. The peacock is rendered in a multitude of bright colors from lavender, to teal, green, buttercup and burgundy.
Condition
It has typical paint loss for an original painted cast iron doorstop, with much of the loss near the top and sides where it was most likely to be handled. Crazing noted throughout. It has not been restored or repainted.
