An antique No. 3 butter churn on stand by The American Mfg. Co. The churn rises on four curved legs. It has a metal two-part cogwheel with a wood handle is to the right side. The round body is braced with two metal strips which are riveted near the top of the rim. The top, made of three slats, can be lifted off. The piece is marked to the front ‘No. 3 / 10 Gall’ and a decorative pattern is stenciled beneath. It is also stenciled ‘Mfd By / The American / Wooden Ware Mfg. Co. / Toledo, O. / U.S.A.’
