A 1947 dated and typed letter signed by former first lady of the United States, Eleanor Roosevelt, regarding her desire to financially assist in advancing the cause for the United Jewish Appeal, post WWII. The closing indicates a blank pledge be filled out by the recipient as ‘generously’ as possible on her behest. It is hand-signed ‘Eleanor Roosevelt’ in the salutation using blue ink on personal letterhead printed ‘Mrs. Franklin D. Roosevelt’ above the address for her New York City residance. Included with a black-and-white photographic portrait, mounted against a black, blue and white triple mat presentation. Secured behind plexiglass inside a beveled edge wooden frame with gilt finish.
