A lithograph French World War I bond poster by Georges Scott (1873-1942), dated 1917. With a title translation reading “For the Flag! For Victory! Subscribe to the National Loan. Subscriptions received in Paris and in the country through the National Bank of Credit’, this print depicts the goddess of liberty holding a sword and a torn French flag while standing in front of the troops. The piece is signed in plate to the lower right corner. The print is mounted under glass in a brown wood frame with hanging wire present to verso. Scott is best known for war correspondence, paintings, and illustrations of brave soldiers during the World War I.

Condition

- poster is wrinkled, creased, and torn around perimeter; dust cover is torn and punctured at the top and on the bottom half; sticker adhered to verso.
