1715 Folio Documenting the Votes of the House of Commons Regarding Related Jacobite Uprising

A two-page folio, documenting the votes cast by the British House of Commons relating to the 1715 ‘First Jacobite Rebellion’ carried out by the exiled House of Stuart, in an attempt to restore a Catholic monarch to the Irish, English and Scottish thrones. A list of resolves includes the call for 10,000 men to be brought into sea service, their payments, as well as related retributions granted to the crown for maintaining such naval operations in various locations worldwide. A closing from the Speaker of the House of Commons delegates the printing of these votes to be carried out. It is dated to the top of the page January 19, 1715. Printed in London. The folio is unframed, safely housed within an off-white mat board. It comes with a paper sheet containing a short description of the document with a brief history of the Jacobite uprisings carried out against the British during the late 17th and early 18th centuries.
