Antique Reversible Anatolian Long Rug
Item Details
An antique reversible Anatolian long rug. It features a squared central medallion on a stepped lozenge in red-orange and indigo. The lozenge and field are populated with stylized flower forms, with a rondel medallion in each spandrel. It has white guard borders with a running water pattern, flanking a wide primary border of quatrefoils and square diagonally striped medallions. The rug appears to have been restored, with blanket stitching at the warp ends to prevent fraying. It has double overcast selvedge and natural wool warp fringe to each end. Unmarked.
