Sculptural Tray Suspended by Molded Hands

Item Details

A sculptural tray. This features a metal rectangular tray with a central depression with shallow straight sides. It is suspended above the square wooden base by two molded plaster stems in the forms of hands, grasping at the edges. The whole has been finished in a warm burnished silver paint, with minute speckles of black visible from underneath. No discernible maker’s or artist’s mark was found.

- some cracking and wear throughout; some separation of top part of hand at seam; chips to finish.
