Item Details
A hand-knotted nomadic Caucasian area rug. This rug features geometric guls with stars, hooked crucifixes, and rosettes in a palette of red, yellow, green, tan. black, and white with a sawtooth pattern border edge that faces the field. A primary border has lancet leaves and is flanked by guard borders bearing a floral pattern. The rug is finished with triple overcast edges and a natural warp fringe at either end. The rug has fabric loops sewn at one side for hanging display. It does not have a maker’s mark or tag.
