Large Vintage Japanese Yamatoku Imari Dish

A vintage hand-painted Japanese Yamatoku Imari dish. The round dish or plate is made of porcelain, featuring intricate hand-painted sections depicting birds, flowers, trees and geometric motifs, in colors of dark red-orange, cobalt blue, green, and gold lustre. The underside of the rim is hand-painted in cobalt blue, depicting fish. It is embossed to the underside with a Yamatoku seal, a kiln which has been producing at the beginning of the Meiji period (1868-1912) to the present day. The impressed seal is dated tentatively to the 1920s and 1930s.
