An original gouache painting on paper by well-listed American frontier genre and landscape painter Paul Surber (Montana/New Mexico; born 1942). The image depicts a stunning southwestern landscape occupied by a Native American village of teepees, the sun rising across the horizon, gently illuminating the flat, blue plains. Artist signature is signed in paint to the lower left. This painting is mounted behind glass in a wood frame with cast molding and a distressed gilt finish. A sawtooth hanger is attached to the verso.
