An antique Underwood No. 5 manual typewriter. This black metal typewriter has black enamel keys. Marked No. 5 to the front left and right. The Underwood Typewriter company operated from 1895 until its merger with Olivetti in 1963. The Number 5 design was produced in the early 1900s, types 84 characters, and was the most successful manual typewriter design in history.
