An 1836 hand-colored lithograph on paper from the History of the Indian Tribes of North America by Thomas L. McKenney (1785-1859) and James Hall (1793-1868), titled below image Ong-Pa-Ton-Ga or Big Elk (Cheif of the Omahas). Painted by Charles Bird King (1785-1862), printed by Lehman & Duval Lith. and published by EyC. Biddle, Philadelphia. The folio is housed behind glass in a simple walnut wood frame. Presented with a beige single mat showing yellow, brown and red pinstripe banding to inner border. A wire for hanging is mounted to the reverse.
