A mid-19th century cut paper silhouette of a man. A label affixed to bottom margin reads ‘W. Roger Birch, Tettenhall Staffordshire, 18th January, 1838’. The silhouette depicts Mr. Birch dressed in a Victorian frock coat holding a cup of tea. The work is set against parchment with an off-white mat, housed inside a wooden frame with brass ring to top and wire for hanging to reverse.
