An 1852 first British edition copy of Harriet Beecher Stowe’s popular anti-slavery novel Uncle Tom’s Cabin. This edition is published by John Cassel of London, and illustrated with twenty-seven wood engravings by George Cruikshank. The preface from the American edition appears at the beginning of the volume. Bound in a marbled hardcover with leather veneers to the spine and corners.
