1849 Bronze Bust After Francis Chantrey of a Young Queen Victoria

An 1849 reproduction bronze bust of a young Queen Victoria, after an original 1839 sculpture by Francis Leggatt Chantrey (1781-1841). The piece depicts the young English queen with braids, a small tiara, and her portrait collar tied at the center. The back of the bronze bust is engraved, ‘Executed in bronze by J.A. Hatfield from a reduced copy by T. Thornycroft after Chantrey. For the Art-Union of London. 1849.’ The bust is mounted on a round pink marble base.

Condition

- there is a small hole in the metal; the marble base is loosely connected to the bust; tarnish and minor surface scratches.
