Item Details
A pair of original watercolor paintings on paper. These Impressionistic pieces depict similar scenes of Carnaval festivities in an urban park environment. The church steeples and other buildings in the background, as well as the greenery of the park in the foreground, are portrayed in muted tones with broad brushstrokes, while numerous small, sharp strokes in vibrant colors suggest the bustling crowds. The smaller piece is marked in pencil in the upper right, ‘7 Marzo Martes de Carnaval /16’ and the larger is marked ‘Martes de Carnaval /8 7d /15’.
Condition
- adhesive residue on reverse of both; bottom edge of smaller piece tattered.
